SANDWICH WITH AN ACHARI TWIST

Sandwiches may be considered the ideal food: convenient, open to any kind of experimentation, and as simple or as intricate as our mood. What you didn't know is that it's a food that has an interesting story around its invention. So, here's a bit of trivia before we give you a very interesting recipe, we are sure you'd love to try.

Sandwiches were popularized in England in 1762, and the name was uniquely adapted in the eighteenth century from John Montagu, the fourth duke of Sandwich. According to a few accounts, John Montagu had a substantial gambling problem. He used to have his households bring him sliced meat and bread at the gaming table on occasion so that he could keep on playing as he ate. However, it appears to be almost certain that he ate these Sandwiches as he worked at his work area and that the world became aware of them when he asked for them in London society. Obviously, John Montagu was not really the first individual to consider putting fillings between slices of bread. Actually, we know precisely where Montagu initially got the thought for his creation. Montagu headed out abroad to the Mediterranean, where Turkish and Greek mezze platters were served. Dips, cheeses, and meats were all "Sandwiched" between and on layers of bread. No doubt, Montagu took inspiration from these when he found a seat at that game table.
