Idli is one of the healthiest and most popular South Indian breakfast dishes. Rice, urad dal is soaked in water, ground into a thick batter, and the batter is then fermented for 8-12 hours. One reason why it's so rich in proteins and is the healthiest dish is a result of its unique preparation method. After fermenting, the batter is poured into Idli plates and steam cooked to get healthy and scrumptious Idli. The fermentation process is the secret for getting soft and fluffy Idli. These are delicate, light, puffy steamed round cakes made with ground, fermented rice, and lentil batter.

Moong Dal Idli is a delectable gluten-free variation of an Idli recipe made using just yellow moong dal. Out of all lentils, Moong Dal is rich in protein and is very healthy for even children. Dal is soaked, ground to a thick batter, and improved with tempering, vegetables, and ENO salt. It is an instant recipe made without rice and doesn't need any fermentation time. It is a healthy, high protein, low-fat breakfast recipe, and simple to make. The batter is then poured into Idli plates and steam cooked for 15 mins to get a delicate and fluffy Moong Dal Idli. One of the primary things to be careful of while preparing the batter is to look for its consistency. It should neither be too thin or thick, in any case. Otherwise, the Idli will not be fluffy. Ginger paste, green chilies, and fresh coriander leaves have been used for enhancing and adding a punch to the recipe. However, this time, we chose to add the zing with a touch of cheddar! So, for this recipe, feel free to gather some of that yummy cheddar cheese.
